Bromölla Gymnasium is looking for a Mathematics Teacher

Bromölla Gymnasium is a small school that started in the autumn term of 2022. We offer the individual alternative and language introduction programs. Currently, about 55 students are enrolled to complete their basic school qualifications, and we expect to have significantly more students in the autumn.

In the individual program, students study flexibly based on the subjects they need to complete for grades. The schedule is tailored to each student according to the subjects included in their study plan.

Teaching is conducted in smaller groups and, in some cases, completely individually. Our goal is always for students to progress to studies in a national program at high school or into work. Our team includes teachers, special educators, study and career counselors, and student coordinators who work closely together. We also have a close collaboration with the municipal activity responsibility. Under the same roof as the high school and the municipal activity responsibility, there is also adult education (Komvux).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now expanding our team with additional teachers and are looking for a certified mathematics teacher for grade 9 in combination with another subject.

You will teach in smaller groups but also individually. Mentorship is a significant part of the role in addition to teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a certified teacher in mathematics and another subject, preferably science subjects or English.

You have high expectations for students and a genuine belief that everyone can succeed. Here, all students are everyone's responsibility! We are an individual program, and there is not one solution that fits all. You have a salutogenic approach, build good relationships, and have tools to highlight and build on the student's strengths.

We would like you to have good knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities and what these mean for the student and the teaching situation, or that you are interested in developing this knowledge.

In your teaching, you have good structures and the ability to manage diversity in the group you teach. Interaction is important to you; you build good relationships with all students, and being low-key is a given, as is the ability to set clear boundaries for students.

• good knowledge of autism and ADHD, mental health issues, and problematic school absenteeism
• knowledge of motivational interviewing (MI) and repulse
• experience with clear pedagogical methods
